1)       May I see your sample report?
One of the most important things you can do is compare reports. Comparing reports is always a good idea!  Beware if they don't want to
show you a report!      If they do, compare it to our report, and you'll see why choosing AIS makes sense.       Click here to see our  SAMPLE REPORT.

2)       Have you built and professionally designed single family homes (foundation to rooftop)?
Can you show me some examples? Are you licensed as an Architect or Engineer?
Homes shown on our site were designed and built by AIS! And YES, we are licensed Architects and Engineers! As well as General Contractors with many years of experience.

3)     Do you give specific repair recommendations with Cost Estimates for those repairs?
Most home inspectors give general repair recommendations, not specific, detailed means and methods, and no inspectors give estimated
costs for those repairs. They refer the repairs, and the costs for those repairs, to the ‘appropriate licensed individuals'.
We are the appropriate licensed individuals! As a licensed Architect and/or Engineer, we can offer engineering recommendations. By law, the average inspector cannot.

4)     How long have you been inspecting homes?  Make sure your home inspector isn't a recently 'certified' inspector, a new comer,
or part time inspector.     AIS has been inspecting homes for over 17 years!  AIS has been designing and building homes in the bay area for over 24 years!

5)      Do you carry Professional Liability Insurance? Can you fax me a Certificate of your coverage’s? If your inspector
has no insurance coverage or just General Liability, stay away! Any professional home inspector carries Professional Liability coverage (also
known as Errors & Omissions coverage). This coverage doesn't just protect the inspector - it protects you!
At your request, our insurer, The Hartford Group, will fax or email you a copy of our General and Professional Liability coverages, prior to your inspection, at no cost to you.

6)     What Licenses, Certifications and Professional Memberships do you maintain?  Having some certifications and a
General Contractors license (you shouldn't consider anything less) is, at a minimum, only a starting point. What you really need is a
Licensed Architect and/or Engineer, to assure yourself of receiving a truly professional, comprehensive report - an inspection and report
that is complete, and that you can rely on!
All AIS inspections are performed by a Licensed Architect and/or Engineer. Our certifications and professional memberships require continuing educational credits every year,
keeping us current with all of the industry standards and practices.
AIS - Certified Home Inspector, Architect, Engineer, General & Engineering Contractor, Registered Environmental Assessor, Certified Professional Inspector

After your inspection, don't be forced to consult with anyone else - an architect, engineer or contractor - to get the answers you should have received in your report. What detailed repairs are required?  Can you rely on the repair recommendations in your report?  What will those repairs cost you?  Avoid having to ask yourself these questions after receiving your report - hire an AIS home inspector!  An AIS report will address ALL of your concerns and questions relating to your property, give you the specific, detailed Repair Recommendations you must have to make an informed decision, and provide you with accurate Estimated Costs of Repairs, so you can plan properly. You can relax, with the knowledge that your efforts and due diligence in choosing your home inspector have really paid off!
